Why A Portrait?

First of all, an oil portrait should be a beautiful painting which one treasures for its drawing, its colors and its composition. It also represents a special time or event in the life of the subject.

Parents like to remember their children as they were before launching into their teenage or adult lives. Adults may choose to freeze the moment of a special occasion for themselves, their family or their friends.  Sometimes a beloved friend or relative who is no longer here can be recaptured on canvas from photographs.

Whatever the reason, the portrait becomes more treasured over time and probably for several generations.
