Portrait Process
The process is simple and should be fun for
everyone.
Yves and the client meet initially either at a
location of the client's choice or at Yves' studio to define the client's
wishes for the portrait (size, pose, clothing, background, lighting and
mood) and to agree on the contract terms (fee and schedule).
At the initial meeting or subsequently, Yves
takes several pictures of the subject in the agreed-upon dress and
environment. If time permits, Yves does a sketch of the subject.
Yves then does a sketch on paper of the
composition and colors of the final painting and submits it to the client
for approval. This is the time to sign the contract and send the
initial payment.
Yves executes the portrait. If possible,
several live sittings of about two hours are scheduled. If not, Yves
paints from the photographs.
A final session with the subject may be
necessary to finalize the portrait. It would take place at the studio
or at the subject's location.
The painting is delivered to the client.
